The Ophthalmology Technician supports clinical and research functions of department by preparing/performing assigned eye procedures on pediatric and adult patients under supervision of physician.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepares equipment and patients for ophthalmic testing procedures.
2. Assists physicians with performing various ophthalmic testing procedures.
3. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
4. Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise
1.Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
2.Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
3.Experience in ophthalmology is preferred.
4.Experience in pediatrics is preferred.
Education and Experience
1.Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of an approved Ophthalmic Technician/Assistant program preferred.
2.Certification: Joint Commission on Allied Personnel in Ophthalmology certification or certification-eligible is preferred.
3.Years of relevant experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare, providing direct patient care is required. Vision center or ophthalmic experience is preferred.
