JOB SUMMARY The Manager Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) 1 function as the primary administrative contact for HTM support for Baylor Scott & White Health entities. Develops, directs, organizes, and manages the overall operations and distribution of resources (staffing, budgets, and outside vendor services) of the HTM equipment support services program for the assigned service areas. This includes review, auditing and decision support activities related to problem diagnosis, repair, preventive maintenance and quality assurance of patient care and other assigned capital asset equipment. Participates in the development of annual goals and objectives related to supporting the growth and development of services in response to the HTM equipment support needs of the organization. The Manager HTM 1 will be responsible for a single or multiple small regional HTM Teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Assists to determine proper staffing levels as needed to provide Biomed support services at assigned accounts, and distributes personnel based upon preventive and corrective maintenance workloads.
Reviews productivity and efficiency work data for all staff members and identifies areas where improvements can be made which will maximize staffing resources.
Works with the Director, HTM Region in hiring and termination decisions at assigned facilities.
Develops and implements new maintenance strategies necessary to improve service quality, reduce turnaround times, increase equipment up time and reduce costs.
Meets periodically with HTM team members to review previous work completion data, future projected scheduled work assignments, quality assurance related issues, new equipment incoming inspections, and any other projects or equipment support needs which would impact staffing and/or financial resources.
Works with the Director, HTM Region to determine training needs and recommends/implements arrangements as needed to obtain the necessary training, test equipment and tools needed to expand the areas of technical services provided by the Department.
Works with the Director, HTM Region and technical staff to identify needed program changes which will enhance the service and support capabilities required to support the equipment base at each assigned facility.
Participates in and/or assists with development of departmental and hospital based continuous quality improvement initiatives. Maximizes patient safety by supporting the proper use, application and operational performance of patient care equipment.
Assists in development of Biomed equipment technology plans for specific sites and/or the system in support of Baylor Scott & White Health's strategic plan.
Works on assigned projects related to development and/or review of specifications for new Biomed equipment acquisition based upon approved capital equipment budgets. Assists with coordinating and performing clinical trials on available new equipment under consideration for purchase.
Participates in construction projects at assigned facilities involving Biomed equipment where appropriate, assisting with equipment planning and providing technical support for Biomed equipment issues during the construction process.
Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Ability to manage single facility within a region.
Valid Driver’s License.
General computer skills, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with facility staff and hospital leadership.
Knowledge and understanding of HTM standards and procedures.
Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations; standards and guidelines of certifying and accrediting bodies; hospital and department/unit standards, protocols, policies and procedures governing BSWH HTM organization
Ability to make operational decisions around how work gets done - quality and productivity standards, measurable goals for employees and project teams, etc.
Ability to use broader objectives to determine how best to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
Ability to make or approve effective hiring and termination decisions.
Ability to evaluate and recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect the managed organization.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma plus 7 years of work experience
EXPERIENCE - 3 years of experience
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Drivers License (TXDL): If moving from out of state must obtain valid TX DL within 90 days of hire.
