• Provides a safe and engaged environment for associates.
• Collaborates with other laboratories and hospital sites to implement evidence-based practices or system best practices.
• Leads and participates in laboratory performance improvement activities, promoting team building, employee engagement, patient satisfaction, and safety.
• Maintains proficiency and current knowledge of trends in laboratory medicine methodology, technology, and service delivery.
• Operationalizes policies and procedures developed by laboratory services and hospitals.
• Establishes site-specific policies and procedures in conjunction with the quality director, technical operations director, and specialists.
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency rules, regulations, and guidelines (CLIA, CAP, TJC, CMS).
• Ensures process performance metrics meet internal goals and customer expectations.
• Maintains an understanding of information systems (LIS, EHR, DI) to optimize quality, service, and work environment.
• Manages financial performance, including budgeting, inventory management, and addressing unfavorable spending trends.
• Follows and enforces appropriate safety policies, including the use of PPE, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling.
• Coach leaders and team to meet strategic and operational goals.
• Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures, including HR and corporate responsibility.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
